Last Friday 27 June, Members of Parliament Barbara Kathmann and Luc Stultiens of GroenLinks-PvdA, along with digital policy officer Tijmen de Vries and Amsterdam municipal councilor Elisabeth IJmker, visited the University of Amsterdam and ICAI at LAB42.
Maarten de Rijke

During this working visit, the focus was on the social and economic impact of AI, with attention to public-private partnerships. This was a great follow-up to the visit of Cindy Rouwhorst, Maarten de Rijke, and Thomas Dohmen to the House of Representatives, where they engaged in discussions with the Standing Committee for Digital Affairs.

Maarten de Rijke spoke about the ICAI lab AI for Retail (AIRLab) Amsterdam, which collaborates with Ahold Delhaize on responsible algorithms and talent development. The OpenGov Lab was also discussed, which works with the Dutch government on transparent and accessible government data. Damiaan Reijnaers and David Graus illustrated how the lab contributes to democratization and strengthens the government's information management.
