We believe that shaping the digital future is a joint effort of all societal actors and requires close collaboration between people developing and implementing technology and people using or regulating technology. In collaboration with partners in society, government, and industry, we bring academic research to practice and co-create technology that is in service of society.

We believe in digital technologies by people, for people, with people. We aim to empower society through technology, ensuring that digital innovations are aligned with human values, needs, and regulatory standards. Collaboration with RDT allows you to benefit from research expertise, the latest scientific insights and networking opportunities. UvA researchers develop digital tool for children to learn sign language

Sign Language of the Netherlands (Nederlandse Gebarentaal, NGT) has been one of the official languages of our country for a few years. However, most people know little about this language. In order to change that, UvA researchers are going to develop a digital learning environment for children in primary education, together with educational developer Prowise. The project, which will be launched soon, will also provide unique data about how children learn sign language.
