From Tuesday, December 2nd to Friday, December 5th, the VU, in collaboration with the Amsterdam UMC and the UvA, will be hosting a four-day workshop for their researchers and master's students. The workshop aims to provide an introduction to programming with Python to broaden your skills for analyzing and plotting your data; learn basics about version control; and get some first insights into how a Unix Shell can be useful in the workflow of your research. One can sign up either for the full workshop, or the solely for the Python or Unix Shell & Git part. The workshop is suitable for those with no or little prior programming experience.

Location
The workshop will be given in a hybrid format. There is the option to follow the workshop either in person at the Vrije Universiteit or online. It is a pilot to give the workshop in a hybrid format, so be aware that one might have a better experience when joining onsite.

Rewards
Though one can register for only a part of the workshop, only upon successful completion of the full workshop, participants can be awarded a SURF Edubadge that can be shared on your LinkedIn or CV.

Required basic knowledge
No prior knowledge is required. Participants will receive links to download Open Source software prior to the start of the workshop. The workshop instruction and materials are in English.
