What do we mean by ‘responsibility’ in the digital age? How do disciplines differ in their understanding of responsibility? Where do they meet?
The RDT keywords project is inspired by Raymond Williams’s original work on keywords to understand how we talk about society and culture, as well as more recent attempts to repeat this in specific sub-domains such as the AI-Now Lexicon. Following these examples, we propose a distinct effort to collaborate across faculties on relevant keywords, such as 'data', 'algorithm', 'platform', 'AI', 'culture', 'public values', 'data ethics', as inquiries of interdisciplinary language and complex issues.
We invite three scholars from different academic disciplines to share their understanding of the keyword and we encourage an UvA-wide audience to join the conversation.
